When you already have a data set for which you want to collect data, you can pre-load this data in the Registration survey. There are two ways to do this, you can fill in Registration surveys, just as you would do in the app or you can copy and paste data from Excel to the system. This tutorial will show how this can de done.
Pre-load data by filling in registration surveys on the web
Pre-loading data in the Registration survey can be done by filling the Registration survey. To do this, select in the menu Registration under Survey data , this will open a grid with all the registration data as shown in figure 1:

To add a new Registration survey click the Create button, this will open a new Registration Survey form which will be sumitted when finalised. To edit a Survey registration, select a row in the grid and click the Edit button.
Copy and paste data in the Registration survey
Pre-loading data in the Registration survey can also be done by copying and pasting data from Excel. The maximum number of rows per upload is 2000, so for 10,000 rows you need to do five upload. Copying and pasting of data can only be done for the survey questions types Single Input, Radio group, Data tables and GPS postion. To avoid uploading dublicates values you can set the unique value in the properties settings for a question.
To copy and paste Excel data, select in the menu Upload registration under ToolsDATA. This will open the grid with all the registration data as shown in figure 2.

When you click the Add row button a new empty row is added to the grid. You can now copy and paste values for the questions Region, Grower, Field registration number, Crop, Variety, Variety type , Class Filed size and latitude, longitude and tag. Values in the grid can be added or changed by copy and pasting, dragging values down the column or editing a cell. Press the SAVE NEW ROWS button to save the values in the grid. All fields with errors will be skipped and not uploaded to the server, instead they will get a red mark, indicating and error. The most likely errors are required fields missing or an incorrect value was given for a dropdown questions whereby the value given is not in the options.
